About me

As a mum of two young children and now 52, I feel fitter, healthier and happier than ever before but also understand the demands that being a mum, working and wanting a healthy lifestyle can bring.

 

I am a passionate runner and I regularly compete in 10k's, half marathons, marathons and most recently an ultra marathon. In 2018 I was immensely proud to have achieved a "Good for Age" entry into the London Marathon with a sub 4 hour qualifying time and this year I have qualified for a "Good for Age" entry into the London Big Half Marathon with an under 1:50 half marathon time for females aged 50-59. I hope to prove that it's never too late and you're never too old! I am also a qualified Running Coach with England Athletics and run my weekly Moving Mums ladies running group in Sawbridgeworth.

Before my fitness career I worked in corporate marketing which involved sponsoring the England Rugby and Cricket teams. I was also a Recruitment then Business Manager for a large agency and spent a number of years working within the world of boxing as the PA to boxing promoter, Frank Warren.

My philosophy is that life is for living, keeping active, getting fresh air, having a greater sense of mental wellbeing and most importantly enjoying - it's all about being realistic and getting a balance. As we age the need to keep active, maintain mobility, flexibility, bone health and cognitive function becomes greater than the aesthetics of our bodies. The ever changing female body needs a structured approach to maintain all of these and this is taken into account when I programme my sessions working with women from prenatal through to post menopausal. I do not believe in diets and replacing meals with substitutes "eat well and move more" for me is the key to longevity.

My qualifications include: Level 2 Gym Instructor, Level 2 Mental Wellbeing in Sport & Physical Activity, Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 3 Pre/Postnatal, Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach, Level 3 Nutrition, Level 3 Advanced Core Stability, Level 3 Health & Fitness Assessing, Boxercise Instructor, Kettlebell Instructor, Coach in Running Fitness, Leader in Running Fitness and specialist qualifications in Diastasis Recti and Meno Strength. I also hold a First Aid for Sport & Exercise and a Safeguarding & Protecting Children Certificate and am a Mental Health Ambassador for England Athletics. I am also currently undertaking Pilates Teacher training and hope to be fully qualified as a VTCT Level 3 Teacher by July 2020.
